Compiler packages from Cosmic have been tested and found to be fully compatible with Hitex development tools. Such packages consist of an ANSI-C cross-compiler, assembler, linker and utilities. Packages available are for the  68HC05, 68HC08, 68HC11, 68HC12 and ST7 microcontrollers.
