The ARM architecture is one of the world's most widely available 32-bit microprocessors architecture and is an important part of modern System-On-Chip (SoC) designs. SoC's with embedded ARM7 and ARM9 CPU are now available in hundreds of variants from many different silicon manufacturers. The deeply embedded CPU in such SoC’s with it's internal busses requires sophisticated debug tools for Software development and testing.

Hitex supports the ARM architecture and the Embedded Trace Macrocell (ETM) with a complete tool chain and provides all you need for the professional development of ARM based products. Our entry level tool, the Tantino for ARM7-9 *, enables run-control software debugging with the JTAG interface of the ARM CPU and the new ARM11 microarchitecture is supported with the Tantino for ARM11 JTAG debugger. The high-end tool Tanto for ARM from Hitex and the extension module Tanto PortTrace for trace capture supports complex program flow analysis and fast program download.

The Intel XScale implementation of the ARM v5TE architecture is supported with the Tantino for Intel XScale JTAG debugger. The Intel specific Elkhart debug unit of the XScale processor includes a program trace feature in addition to the run-control functions.

For the developers who want to migrate from the 8- and 16-bit microprocessors to the ARM microprocessors and for developers who would like to familiarize with the ARM architecture Hitex offers ARM Starter Kits.
This enables the low cost entry for new ARM projects with Hitex powerfull HiTOP5 IDE, GNU C compiler, documentation and our ARM instruction set simulator HiSIM.

Hitex supports a big variety of existing ARM7, ARM9 and ARM9E derivatives from many silicon manufacturers.
