Coding Standards

The Motor Industry Software Reliability Association (MISRA) have produced a series of software coding standards for developers using the C programming language.

The standard was adopted initially by the motor trade but has more recently become adopted by all major industries writing software for high integrity system. The coding rules proposed by MISRA are detailed in a document called MISRA-C:2004. This document describes each of the coding ideas in turn helping designers produce more bug free and reliable software critical for high integrity systems.

The book is easy to read for competent C programmers, and provides examples where it is necessary to clarify the rule.

The book is available to purchase from the Hitex web shop.
