Tanto JTAG Debugger and Trace Emulator

Tanto is a high-end modular test and analysis tool which supports various microcontroller architectures.
The basic Tanto system consists of the universal Tanto Base module and a target-specific Port Link module allowing the direct connection to the debug port in the target system. This provides all run-control debug facilities like breakpoints, watchpoints, single-step, register and memory views you need. Together with the HiTOP IDE/Debugger, you have everything to compile and debug your application including RTOS support.

The optional Tanto Port Trace module extends the Tanto Base module and offers enhanced functions for debugging complex systems in real-time. It supports the on-chip trace modules and adds a powerful hardware trace module.

The following list summarizes some technical features, available for the ARM7-9 and TriCore architectures:

  • Target interface supporting voltages 1.8 - 5.0 V and clocks up to 30 MHz
  • USB full speed and 10/100 MBit Ethernet interface
  • Run-control facilities: run/halt, single step/line step, breakpoints and watchpoints
  • Fast program download with up to 400 kByte/s (depends on the target CPU)
  • Fast FLASH programming for internal and external FLASH memories
  • Expandable with Tanto Port Trace module for enhanced trace capture capabilities

The Tanto package includes

  • Tanto debugger
  • Target-specific Port Link module
  • CD with HiTOP IDE/Debugger (compatible with all Hitex tools) and electronic user manual
  • Target, Ethernet, USB, serial cable and power supply cable
  • External power supply
  • HiTOP license for target architecture
  • HiSIM ARM Instruction Set Simulator
  • GNU C-Compiler
