Beyond CAN II – Advanced Data Communications

A technical seminar to be held at Prodrive Warwick Motorsport Technology Centre on Wednesday 16th November 2005, 9.30am - 4.30pm
(Lunch and Refreshments Included)

Beyond CAN II

Following the success of last year’s Beyond CAN Seminar, Warwick Control Technologies and Hitex UK are collaborating to provide an insight on the next phase of automotive data bus communication technology - Beyond CAN 2.

CAN is the de-facto standard with almost all automotive OEMs as their main communication protocol, and TTCAN was seen as the 1st generation x-by-wire and safety systems, whilst the automotive industry awaits the emergence of the FlexRay protocol.

LIN (Local Interconnect Protocol) has emerged as a CAN compliment sub-bus for simple body control and mechatronic applications.

FlexRay is targeted at meeting the needs of present and future in-car control applications and the aim is to establish FlexRay as the de facto standard in the automotive industry. BMW and DaimlerChrysler – the first car companies to kick off the initiative - intend to use FlexRay in advanced application series-production within the next few years.

This Seminar will bring you up to date on the latest developments and trends in the area of automotive data bus communication technology. There will be distinguished experts from around Europe speaking on the most significant issues concerning this technology.
